Bernina Sewing Machine Mastery Course

The Bernina Sewing Machine Mastery Course is where you can learn to be the master of your Bernina sewing machine with ease like never before.

You will be learning modern techniques and skills from our dedicated Bernina Industry Educator with years of experience in both usability and technical ability.

Our educator not only has a vast and endless knowledge of Bernina dedicated usage and a technical troubleshooting background, but a relaxed and understanding method of delivery.

You will start by learning the basic navigation of the Bernina operating system platform so you understand the correct methods for stitch programming and editing of all types of sewing including dressmaking, quilting and embroidery.

We will be explaining the do`s and don`ts to improve the relationship between you and your machine and the best troubleshooting advice available.

Towards the end of your course you will have learnt the more advanced hands-on maintenance and general housekeeping techniques require to prolong the life of your machine.

We also have an on-site and on demand Bernina accredited technician to overlook and co-host our Bernina Sewing Machine Mastery Course on the fly to keep a consistent and fluent less-stress environment.

We have limited spaces available as we like to keep small numbers in our class so we can concentrate on your requirements and for you to gain the most out of this education day experience.

Quilting Mastery 3 Day Course – Saturdays

This Series of 3 class is designed for the sewist that is a complete beginner to quilting. The quilting techniques taught in the class give you the skill to Quilt a pieced quilt to to add quilting to any sewn/crafted project.

In the First class you will learn how to make a quilt sandwich, you will learn the tools required for quilting such as threads, needles and how to stitch with your walking foot. We will start with straight lines, progress to decorative style quilting and then on to curves, all done using your walking/even feed foot.
The second class is designed for the sewist that is new to free motion quilting.

he quilting techniques taught in the class all use a Free motion quilting foot. In this class you will learn how to stitch with the free motion foot and learn to stitch several different basic movements that will allow you to develop the skills to free motion quilt. We will also cover areas such as threads, needles and tension settings. We will start with simple movements and the progress to more complicated designs.

The Third class is designed to continue on with learning how to include rulers into your quilting. In this class you will learn how to stitch with the use of rulers and the Ruler foot and learn how to adapt the different basic movements to suit block shapes and spaces in a quilt.

Duration – 3 days over three months (9:30 – 3:30)

Open to all machines but must have a walking foot, Free motion foot/feet and Ruler foot.

Quilting Mastery Class Requirements

  • Sewing machine in good working order with instruction book
  • Walking feet, Free Motion feet and Ruler foot
  • A kit will be supplied for the fabric and batting required.
  • Contrast quality thread
  • 2 bobbins fill with thread.
  • New needle to suit machine.
  • Thread snips
  • Marking pencil (that will show up on fabric selected) and ruler
  • Sketch or scrap book and lead pencil – (doesn’t need to be expensive quality one)

Come along to this first event and get to know your overlocker!

In this Overlocker Class #1 – The Basics will be exploring three and four thread setups, with your personal machine setting information and samples sewn to understand the operation of your overlocker, stitch lengths, cutting differences, tensions, differential feed, how to’s on beginning and ending seams, inside and outside corners, and rolled edges.

Your completed workbook will be a valuable resource to reference later.
